Fairphone has officially introduced the Fairphone 6+, a performance-focused upgrade to its repairable and sustainability-driven smartphone lineup. The new model keeps Fairphone's signature modular construction and removable battery while upgrading the chipset, memory, and overall performance.

The Fairphone 6+ comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also continues Fairphone's long-term software support approach, with updates promised through 2033.

For users who care about longevity, repairability, and reducing electronic waste without settling for outdated hardware, the Fairphone 6+ presents an interesting alternative to conventional smartphones.

Modular Design Built to Last

The biggest differentiator of the Fairphone 6+ remains its modular construction. Instead of treating the smartphone as a sealed device, Fairphone allows users to replace several components themselves.

It uses a dual-SIM setup with one nano-SIM and one eSIM. A fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button, while face unlock is also available.

Fairphone has also retained its Fairphone Moments feature, which provides a simplified interface and can restrict access to selected applications. This is designed for users who want to reduce distractions and spend less time on their smartphones.
